Ice cream + café · interior design package

A high-end café your local carpenter can build.

Cream & Crumb is a warm soft-serve café laid out for a typical 6.0 × 8.0 m shopfront (48 m²); we refit it to your measured plan. The wow comes from one carpenter-friendly move: a full-length wall of pine battens on forest-green ply, cut with four arched niches over a built-in bench. Everything else is standard 18 mm ply, three paint colours and warm light. Your two Spaceman machines sit side by side on a lowered bay facing the queue, under the menu board, so serving is the show. Every render, plan, elevation and cut list below comes from the same model.

Café interior from the entrance: pine-batten wall with arched apricot niches, green bench seating, battened front counter, two soft-serve machines under a green menu board
From the door. The menu, both machines and the battened counter line up on one axis, and the feature wall pulls guests toward the seats. 15 seats in 27 m² of customer floor.
Two stainless soft-serve machines side by side on a lowered birch-ply bay, cream tile splash, green menu board and open ply shelves
Both Spaceman units (55 × 66 cm each) on a 760 mm bay: draw handles at about 1.2 m, hoppers easy to fill, and every swirl visible over the 1,050 ledge.
Staff-side view along the service aisle between the front counter and the back counter with the machines and hand-wash basin
Staff side. A 1,060 mm aisle runs from the back-of-house door past the hand-wash basin and the machines to the pick-up end. Doors and drawers face the aisle.
Pine batten feature wall with four arched niches painted apricot, green linen bench cushions, birch tables and paper globe pendants
The feature wall: 45 × 20 pine battens at 90 mm centres, a grazing LED under the ply cap, and four apricot-painted niches lined with flexi-ply. One timber section, no CNC.
Palette and materials board with six colour swatches and material close-ups
Colour and materials: six finishes, each with where it goes, and the four rules that keep the build affordable.
Dimensioned floor plan with zones, customer and staff flow arrows, machine footprints and seat count
A-101 floor plan. One-way customer loop (queue, pay, collect, sit or leave), a separate staff route, both machines dimensioned at 550 × 660, key clearances and a seating count.
Feature wall elevation with batten spacing, niche sizes, bench heights and a plan-section detail
A-201 feature wall elevation, with the batten build-up detail your carpenter needs: grounds, backing ply, batten size and spacing.
Back-bar wall elevation with cabinet fronts, lowered machine bay, tile splash, menu board, shelves and back-of-house door
A-202 back-bar elevation: heights for the bay, worktops, splash, shelves and menu board, plus why the bay steps down.
Construction sheet with counter and machine-bay sections, a ply cut list and sheet nesting diagrams
A-301 construction: counter and machine-bay sections, every ply part listed with sizes, and the parts nested onto 1,220 × 2,440 sheets so a carpenter can price it in one read.
Materials and finishes schedule with affordable alternatives, relative cost tiers and essential or optional tags
A-401 materials and finishes: specification, affordable alternative, relative cost tier and essential or optional for every item, plus the list of things to check with a local professional.
360° from the queue line, same model. Drag to look around: feature wall, counter and both machines, the wall ledge and the shopfront.

How it stays affordable · sheets
Counters, cabinets, shelves and the bench are 18 mm ply cut from standard 1,220 × 2,440 sheets. The cut list nests onto 7 birch-faced and 18 carcass sheets.
How it stays affordable · timber
One batten section (45 × 20 pine) for the wall, the counter front and the gate, fixed with a spacer block. Four flexi-ply arches are the only curves.
How it stays affordable · paint + light
Three paint colours carry the scheme. Warm 2700 K LED strips, paper globes and enamel cones make it feel high-end at night.
Essential vs optional
The schedule separates what the look needs from later upgrades: quartz tops, poured terrazzo, digital menus, the spot-lit track.
